Description

Rootzone Professional Supreme 80-20 – A blend of 80% sand 20% Norfolk Topsoil (British Standard 3882) is ideally suited for professional sports turf where ultimate drainage*, compaction management and root depth is crucial.  Recommended laid depth 200-300mm

Rootzone is one of the foundations of modern sports turf construction and renovation. When we talk about rootzone, we mean a carefully blended growing medium that gives grass plants the balance they need between drainage, moisture retention, air space and nutrient holding. On golf surfaces and other sports fields, that balance matters every day. A green or pitch can look fine from the top, but if the profile below is wrong, recovery slows, roots stay shallow and performance soon drops away.

It also pays to check the wider agronomy. A new rootzone layer should support, not fight against, your nutrition and water strategy. That is why many teams pair new construction and renovation work with Soil Testing before deciding on amendments, fertiliser inputs or deeper profile correction. Knowing your pH, organic matter status and nutrient availability helps you avoid guesswork and keep your soil nutrient balance moving in the right direction.

Rootzone also plays a big role in seed establishment. When you are carrying out repairs or end-of-season work, the seedbed needs close particle contact, adequate moisture* and enough fine material to support germination without becoming capped. Rootzone selection needs to be matched to the job, rather than treated as a one-size-fits-all purchase that is why as standard, we have a selection of root zone ratios to cope with most soil situation however ratios can be adapted to meet your specific requirements just give us a call on 01603 754607 or contact us to discuss your needs.

Rootzone Professional Supreme 80-20 is specifically designed for and should only be used at the root area that is beneath turf or grass seed as part of a full lawn maintenance programme.  Many turf and lawn managers use it for other purposes however; we have products specifically designed for those other maintenance jobs such as Eco dressing, lawn repair mix and Renovation mix.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Root Zone is designed for and should only be used at the root area that is beneath turf or grass seed as part of a full maintenance programme.  Many turf and lawn managers use it for other purposes however; we have products specifically designed for those other maintenance jobs such as Eco dressing, lawn repair mix and Renovation mix  and strongly recommended these are used for maintenance projects such as over seeding and top dressing rather than Rootzone products.

*It is highly important to maintain a suitable irrigation programme for turf, lawns and seeds appropriate to the current weather conditions to achieve the best results.  This is particularly important for new laid turf and seed.
